South India rewards the traveler who takes their time. Over 21 days, this tour moves from the great temple towns of Tamil Nadu through Kerala's highlands and backwaters, past Karnataka's ruined empires, and down to the easy coastal charm of Goa.

Journey Through the Soul of South India

This immersive 21-day South India tour invites international travelers to experience the true depth and diversity of India's southern peninsula. Beginning in Chennai, you'll travel through ancient Dravidian temple towns, mist-covered hill stations, tranquil backwater villages, and historic royal cities before ending on the sunlit shores of Goa. Every stop on this route has been chosen to reveal a different, authentic face of South India: its spirituality, its nature, its art, and its living traditions.

Explore the Ancient Temple Heartland

The first leg of your journey takes you through Tamil Nadu's legendary temple corridor. Mahabalipuram's rock-cut shore temples, carved by Pallava artisans over 1,300 years ago, set the tone. Puducherry blends French colonial architecture with Tamil culture in a way found nowhere else in the world. Tanjore's Brihadeeswarar Temple, alongside the ancient temples of Trichy and the iconic Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, offer a profound journey through Dravidian civilization at its finest.

Discover the Highlands of Kerala

From the plains of Tamil Nadu, you ascend into Kerala's magnificent highlands. Thekkady is home to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, where elephants, bison, and exotic birds roam freely around a scenic lake. Munnar offers two full days surrounded by rolling tea plantations, mist-wrapped peaks, and cool mountain air. These hill stations provide a natural counterpoint to the temple towns: quiet, green, and deeply restorative.

Drift Through Kerala's Backwaters

No journey through South India is complete without experiencing Kerala's legendary backwaters. Kumarakom, nestled on the banks of Vembanad Lake, offers tranquil village life and birdwatching. From there, you board a traditional rice-boat houseboat in Alleppey (Alappuzha), drifting through narrow canals lined with coconut palms. You then arrive in Kochi (Cochin), a city that wears its layered history, Portuguese, Dutch, British, and Indian, with remarkable grace.

Journey Through Royal Cities and Rock Fortresses

Leaving Kerala, you head into the highlands of the Nilgiris before entering Karnataka's regal heartland. Ooty (Udhagamandalam) is a classic hill retreat with a charming colonial past. Mysore dazzles with its magnificent Mysore Palace and its vibrant bazaars. Hassan serves as the gateway to Belur and Halebid, where the Hoysala temples stand as some of the most intricately carved stone monuments in the world. Hampi is the hauntingly beautiful ruined capital of the Vijayanagara Empire, spread across a surreal boulder-strewn landscape. Badami rounds off Karnataka with its stunning 6th-century rock-cut cave temples.

End on the Shores of Goa

You spend your final four nights in Goa, India's most beloved coastal destination. Whether you seek the energy of its famous beaches, the quiet charm of its Portuguese colonial churches and mansions (several UNESCO-listed), the flavors of its seafood cuisine, or simply the pleasure of rest after a rich journey, Goa offers the perfect ending to this grand tour.

Luxury and Comfort Across Every Mile

Throughout your 21-day journey, you travel in private air-conditioned vehicles with professional English-speaking guides. Accommodations are carefully selected properties, heritage hotels, boutique resorts, and a traditional houseboat that offer comfort without sacrificing local character. Meals are arranged at quality restaurants featuring regional specialties. All logistics, permits, and arrangements are professionally managed from arrival to departure.

Designed for the Curious International Traveler

This tour is ideal for travelers who want more than surface-level sightseeing and those who are interested in history, architecture, nature, spirituality, and local culture.
