A 7-day South India journey through misty coffee hills, wild jungles, and regal palace cities. Private transfers, handpicked stays, and expert guides included.

A Route Built Around Three Very Different Souths

South India is not one place; it is many places layered on top of each other. This tour is designed to move through three of its most distinct personalities: the cool, coffee-scented highlands of Coorg (Kodagu), the wild and watery edges of Kabini, and the aristocratic grandeur of Mysore. Together, they create a journey that is natural and cultural in equal measure.

The Coffee Country of Coorg

Coorg sits high in the Western Ghats at an elevation that keeps it cool, mist-covered, and richly forested. It is one of India's most important coffee-growing regions, and the landscape here is shaped by it, rolling hills covered in coffee and spice estates, rivers that run clear and fast, and small towns with a culture distinct from the plains below. You will spend two full days in Coorg exploring its estates, waterways, and local life at a comfortable pace. The region is also home to the Kodava people, who have their own language, cuisine, and traditions, an added layer of cultural interest for the curious traveler.

Kabini — Jungle Edge, River Light

Kabini sits at the meeting point of the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve and the Kabini reservoir and is considered one of the finest wildlife destinations in South India. The backwaters here attract large concentrations of wildlife during the dry months, and the forest is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, gaur, wild dogs, and an exceptional variety of birds. Game drives and boat safaris are the way to explore, and even a single day here offers encounters that stay with you. Kabini is also one of those rare places that feels genuinely remote without being inaccessible, which makes it a perfect inclusion in this tour.

Mysore — Palace City of the South

Mysore (officially Mysuru) was the seat of the Wodeyar dynasty and remains one of the best-preserved examples of royal South Indian culture. The Mysore Palace is not just a building; it is a statement of architectural ambition, with its blend of Hindu, Islamic, Rajput, and Gothic influences and its extraordinary interior of stained glass, carved teak, and inlaid ivory. Beyond the palace, Mysore offers bazaars rich with sandalwood, silk, and incense and a civic dignity that makes it a pleasure to simply walk through. Two days here allow you to take it in properly, without rushing.

Designed for the Thoughtful Traveller

This tour moves at a considered pace. There is no attempt to cover everything; instead, the focus is on doing fewer things well. Private transport connects every destination, English-speaking guides are with you throughout, and accommodations are chosen for character and comfort. The itinerary is structured but not rigid, and can be adjusted based on your interests and travel style.

Day 1: Bangalore — Arrival & Orientation

Your tour begins in Bangalore (Bengaluru), India's technology capital and the main entry point for this region. You will be received at the airport or your hotel and settled into your accommodation. The day is free for rest and orientation after your journey. If you arrive early, Bangalore's vibrant café culture, markets, and gardens offer easy, relaxed exploration on your terms.

End of day: Check into your Bangalore hotel and prepare for the hills ahead.

Day 2: Bangalore → Coorg — Into the Coffee Highlands

After breakfast, your private vehicle departs for Coorg (Kodagu), approximately 4–5 hours from Bangalore. As you climb into the Western Ghats, the landscape shifts; and the city gives way to winding roads, forest cover, and the cool air of the highlands. On arrival, check into your estate or hill property. In the afternoon, take an introductory walk through a coffee plantation, where you can see the cultivation process up close and learn about the crops that define this region: coffee, pepper, cardamom, and more.

End of day: Settle into your Coorg accommodation surrounded by plantation greenery.

Day 3: Coorg — Full Day Exploration

A full day in Coorg to explore at your own pace with your guide. Visit the Abbey Falls, a striking waterfall set within forested estate land. Explore the Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple) in Bylakuppe, one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India and a place of quiet beauty. Walk through spice and coffee estates, meeting farmers and learning how the beans are dried, sorted, and processed. Sample local Kodava cuisine, a robust, pork-forward or vegetarian tradition unlike anything else in South India.

End of day: Return to your Coorg accommodation for a relaxed evening.

Day 4: Coorg → Kabini — Into the Jungle

Morning departure toward Kabini, approximately 2–3 hours from Coorg. On arrival, check into your jungle lodge near the Kabini backwaters. After lunch and rest, head out on an afternoon wildlife safari inside the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve. The forest is dense and biodiverse, and the Kabini reservoir edge draws significant concentrations of animals in the afternoon hours. Look out for Asian elephants, spotted deer, gaur, bonnet macaques, kingfishers, and, if fortunate, leopards or tigers. Return to the lodge as the light fades, with the sounds of the forest settling in around you.

End of day: Dinner at the lodge, the jungle is very close here.

Day 5: Kabini → Mysore — Palaces and Sandalwood

An early morning boat or jeep safari before breakfast, when the forest is at its most active, and the light on the water is extraordinary. After breakfast, depart for Mysore, approximately 2 hours from Kabini. Check into your hotel and, after lunch, visit the Mysore Palace, a landmark of Indian royal architecture, especially stunning when lit in the early evening. Explore the palace's interiors: the Durbar Hall, the golden howdah, and the carved and painted ceilings that reflect the Wodeyar dynasty's aesthetic ambition. Wander through the surrounding palace grounds and the adjacent market street.

End of day: Mysore settles into a warm, lamp-lit calm after dark.

Day 6: Mysore — Full Day & Departure to Bangalore

A second day in Mysore for deeper exploration. Visit the Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill, a significant pilgrimage site with sweeping views of the city below. Explore Devaraja Market, one of the most aromatic and lively markets in South India, where jasmine garlands, sandalwood, spices, and silk pile together in colorful abundance. In the afternoon, browse the city's famous sandalwood and silk establishments. In the early evening, depart for Bangalore, approximately 3 hours. Check into your Bangalore hotel for the final overnight.

End of day: A final night in Bangalore before your departure tomorrow.

Day 7: Bangalore — Full Day & Departure

Your last day is free for independent exploration of Bangalore. Options include Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Cubbon Park, the old Pete (market) area, or simply enjoying the city's well-known café and restaurant culture. Depending on your flight time, you can use the day for last-minute shopping, sightseeing, or relaxed downtime. Your transfer to the airport is arranged in time for your evening departure.

End of day: Departure from Bangalore Kempegowda International Airport.
